Privacy Policy – Forthfox YouTube Uploader

Effective date: 19 October 2026

Operator: Forthfox Solutions, Surat, Gujarat, India – https://forthfoxsolutions.com

1. About this app

Forthfox YouTube Uploader (“the App”) is a private, internal tool. Only the owner of Forthfox Solutions uses it to upload and manage videos on the owner’s own YouTube channel through the YouTube Data API. It is not offered to the public, and it does not collect data from any other users.

By using the App, the user agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Data the App accesses

The App requests these Google OAuth scopes:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload – to upload videos.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl – to set video thumbnails, add videos to playlists, and read the status of videos the App uploaded.

Through these scopes, the App processes:

  • OAuth credentials: The access token and refresh token issued by Google.
  • Content and metadata supplied by the owner: Video files, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, category, scheduled publish time, playlist ID, and audience or disclosure settings.
  • Data returned by the YouTube API: Video IDs, upload and processing status, privacy and scheduling status, and playlist item IDs for the owner’s own videos.

The App does not access YouTube viewing history, subscribers’ personal data, comments, analytics, or any other Google account data. It also does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.

3. How the data is used

Data is used only to:

  • Upload the owner’s videos.
  • Set their metadata, thumbnails, playlists, and scheduled publishing.
  • Confirm the upload succeeded.

It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

4. Sharing and sale

Data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party. The only exception is Google/YouTube, which receives it as needed to perform the requested API operations. No data is transferred to data brokers, advertisers, or AI/ML training services.

5. Storage and security

  • OAuth tokens are stored locally on the owner’s own computer, in a file (e.g. token.json) or in environment variables. They are never sent to Forthfox servers or any other server, apart from Google’s OAuth endpoints.
  • Video files and metadata stay on the owner’s computer until they are uploaded to YouTube.
  • The App keeps no separate database.
  • Local files are protected by the owner’s device security. The owner can delete them at any time.

6. Google API Services User Data Policy

The App’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The App also complies with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and Developer Policies.

7. Retention and deletion

  • Tokens are kept locally only as long as the owner continues to use the App. Deleting the local token file removes them.
  • Videos uploaded to YouTube are governed by YouTube’s own settings and can be deleted in YouTube Studio.

8. Revoking access

Access can be revoked at any time at Google Account Permissions. Select “Forthfox YouTube Uploader” and choose Remove access. Revoking invalidates all tokens issued to the App.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this location with a new effective date.
